In this Pro Tips 4U instructional track and field training video, Brianna Glenn, USA track and field champion, review basics of how to do the long jump. Brianna discusses the start, the middle and reviews the last three steps before the jump. She also provides tips on how to nail your approach every time.

Brianna Glenn is a long jumper and sprinter. She finished ninth at the 2002 World Cup and seventh at the 2006 World Athletics Final. Her personal best jump is 6.87 metres, achieved in June 2011.Brianna also holds a personal best in the 100m of 11.10 seconds.

During her collegiate career at the University of Arizona, she won two NCAA titles in the 200m and long jump.

Greek long jumper Miltiadis Tentoglou stunned Cuba's Juan Miguel Echevarria to win gold in the men's long jump final held in the Olympic stadium. Tentoglou was switching ranks in the first few rounds and even missed a few attempts, but it was in round six where he leaped his best at 8.41m enough to take down the Cuban star. Echevarria was going for his sixth and last attempt to try to top Tentoglou's mark but couldn't make his final jump due to injury. Maykel Masso also got injured in the earlier rounds but managed to hold on to third place after leaping to 8.21m on his second attempt.

The first movement (Allegro) of the Trumpet Concerto in E flat major, Hob. VIIe:1, composed by Joseph Haydn when he was 64 years old.

The piece was written for Anton Weidinger who developed a keyed trumpet that could play chromatically throughout its entire range. Before this, the trumpet was valveless and could only play a limited range of harmonic notes by altering the vibration of the lips; also called by the name of natural trumpet.

Haydn's concerto includes melodies in the middle and lower register, exploiting the capabilities of the new instrument.
