Mohammad-Reza Shajarian was born in Mashhad, Iran, and started singing at the age of five, under the supervision of his father. At the age of twelve, he began studying the traditional classical repertoire known as the Radif. Shajarian started his singing career in 1959 at Radio Khorasan, rising to prominence in the 1960s with his distinct style of singing. His main teachers were Ahmad Ebadi, Esmaeil Mehrtash, Abdollah Davami, and Nour-Ali Boroumand. He also learned the vocal styles of singers from previous generations, including Reza Gholi Mirza Zelli, Fariborz Manouchehri, Ghamar Molouk Vaziri, Eghbal Azar, and Taj Isfahani. He has cited legendary Iranian tar musician Jalil Shahnaz as highly influential to his development, indicating that he has often tried to mimic Shahnaz's playing style in his singing.
دنیای موسیقی خوشحال است که محمدرضا شجریان با آن صدای خاص و جذابش دوباره اهنگ فوق العاده‌ای منتشر کرده است و دنیای موسیقی را منور به حضور خود کرده است. ساقیا اثری فوق العاده از محمدرضا شجریان است. محمدرضا شجریان سعی کرده تا در این موزیک حس و احساس خود را به خوبی بیان کند و با انتشار ساقیا بتواند دوباره جای پای خود را در دنیای موسیقی محکمتر کند. به گواه مخاطبین و مقادیر بالای دانلود ساقیا محمدرضا شجریان جز ترانه های خوب ماه بوده و با توجه به کامنت‌های مردمی در زیر پست محمدرضا شجریان که مربوط به انتشار ساقیا میتوان رضایت مخاطبین و هواداران فهمید. از طرفی محمدرضا شجریان با استفاده از تیم کار درست و انتخاب فوق العاده شعر برای موزیک ساقیا همگی از عوامل موفقیت این قطعه دوست داشتنی است. این روزها در دنیای موسیقی کوچکترین لغزشی میتواند جایگاه خوانندگان را به خطر بیندازد و باعث شود تا مسیر موفقیت آن ها از بین برود. محمدرضا شجریان با آگاهی از این موضوع با وسواس و دقت بیشتر در انتشار آهنگ ساقیا تمام سعیش را کرده تا اثری خوب و فوق العاده خلق کند. امیدواریم از شنیدن صدای محمدرضا شجریان در قطعه ساقیا لذت ببرید

روز‌های پایانی سال گذشته مراسم رونمایی از آلبوم «نه فرشته‌ام نه شیطان» در تالار وحدت تهران برگزار شد. انتشار این آلبوم بازتاب‌های مثبت زیادی داشته و در همین مدت کوتاه علاقه‌مندان فراوانی پیدا کرده است. در مراسم رونمایی این آلبوم ویدئویی برای قطعه «چرا رفتی» پخش شد که باران کوثری از بازیگران سینمای ایران آن را کارگردانی کرده بود و تعدادی از بازیگران سینمای ایران در آن جلوی دوربین رفته‌اند. قطعه «چرا رفتی» با آوازی از همایون شجریان و ترانه‌ای از سیمین بهبهانی و آهنگسازی تهمورس پورناظری در آلبوم «نه فرشته‌ام نه شیطان» منتشر شده است.
