بی کسم ای، شاه پناهم بده
از صف مژگان نگهی کن به من
با نظری، یار و سپاهم بده
در شب اول که به قبرم نهند
نور بدان شام سیاهم بده
ای که عطا بخش همه عالمی
جمله ی حاجات مرا هم بده
گفتنی است: عمده شهرت محمدعلی کریمخانی تصنیف «قطعه‌ای از بهشت» (قطعه آمدم ای شاه) در مدح امام هشتم شیعیان است. وی از کودکی خواندن آواز در مراسم مذهبی را آغاز کرد و بعد از این که متوجه توانایی‌های خود شد، به تهران مهاجرت کرد. یکی از ویژگی‌های خاص محمدعلی کریمخانی در خوانندگی، صدای بلند اوست که با وجود ورود او به دهه هفتم زندگی خود، از توان آن کاسته نشده است.
