Lyrics:
In the beginning there was the word
In nothing but darkness god made the world
In the beginning there were just two made from the dust like all of us
In the beginning a four letter word l-o-v-e meant nothing to me
But made in his image, we were born two of a kind, beginning of time
And god made me (and he loves me, and he loves me)
God made me and Adam and Steve
And he loves me (and he loves me)
And god made me
And god made me (and he loves me, and he loves me)
And god made me just like Adam and Steve
And he loves me 'cause god made me
And in the garden they were both
there smiling like children without a care
And in the garden up on the tree they saw the fruit for you and me
And in the garden they took a bite
ashamed of the truth, ashamed of the light
Cast into darkness they would be d*mned for being a man holding hands.
And god made me (and he loves me, and he loves me)
God made me and Adam and Steve
And he loves me (and he loves me)
And god made me
And god made me (and he loves me, and he loves me)
And god made me just like Adam and Steve
And he loves me 'cause god made me
They want to destroy me they will all enjoy it
Say I'm an abomination but I'm god's creation
They all want to crush me say I am so disgusting
Secretly they love me just like him
And god made me (and he loves me, and he loves me)
(God made me and Adam and Steve)
And he loves me and he loves me (god made me this way)
God made me (And he loves me, and he loves me)
God made me gay
And he loves me 'cause god made me (made me)
God made me me and Adam and Steve
God made me, you got to believe
God made me and Madam and Eve
God made me and he loves me
Bio:
Rising pop star Dorian Electra (pronouns: they/them/theirs) makes music that defies gender norms. In the past year, their work has gained a queer cult following and led to them being named a must-know talent by Buzzfeed and one of PAPER Magazine's "100 Women Revolutionizing Pop." Not only that, but Electra has also quickly built a dedicated fan base thanks to their futuristic spin on 00s pop, 80s funk, and a long-standing love of satirizing rigid gender roles and views on sexuality. A Charli XCX collaborator, Electra was featured on the Pop 2 track "Femmebot (feat. Dorian Electra & Mykki Blanco)." In 2018, Electra performed at NYC Pride, toured with British pop sensation Rina Sawayama, Charli XCX, and supported Russian group PussyRiot on their first U.S. tour. Electra's recent singles and music videos, "Career Boy," "Man To Man" and "Flamboyant" have garnered press and playlist spots from Pitchfork, Billboard, The Fader, and Nylon among others. 2019 welcomes the release of Dorian Electra's debut album and first headlining tour.

Disclaimer: back when this movie was made, people wore blackface. Was it wrong? yes. But hindsight is easy. But Jolson and his voice should not be forgotten or banned because of it. Who cares what you think! Who cares if it offends you! If it does....no one is holding a gun to your head making you watch it.

Celebrated archival reissue label Light in the Attic (LITA) is proud to announce the second release in their Nancy Sinatra Archival Series, the definitive version of her inimitable debut LP, Boots. Originally released in 1966, the enduringly iconic, million-selling album not only catapulted the career of singer, actress, activist, and cultural icon, Nancy Sinatra, it contained within its grooves an enduring anthem of empowerment that continues to resonate with new audiences today with no signs of slowing down.
Boots marks Sinatra’s transformation from “Nancy nice lady,” as she says, to a fully-formed and self-assured figure of empowerment both in appearance and in performance, making her forever synonymous with the album’s titular subject in the process. A top 5 album at the time of its release, Sinatra scored a No.1 hit on both sides of the Atlantic with “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’,” which earned three GRAMMY® nominations and sold over a million copies of the single. The album marked her first full-length release with writer, producer, and collaborator, Lee Hazlewood, which features a mixture of Hazlewood-penned tunes and selections from heavyweights The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, and more. The successful collage of 60s material hangs beautifully together with support from the famed Los Angeles session musicians, The Wrecking Crew, who set the stage for Nancy’s vocals with their raw, jangly, exuberance and cohesion. Tying it all together is arranger and longtime collaborator Billy Strange, whose innovative arrangements provided the perfect sound to help Nancy capture the attention of the world. Included in the forthcoming reissue are all tracks from the original album, plus two bonus tracks, “The City Never Sleeps At Night” and the previously unreleased “For Some.” All tracks have been newly remastered from the original analog tapes by GRAMMY®–nominated engineer, John Baldwin.

MIT grad introduces logs and shows how to evaluate them. To skip ahead: 1) For how to understand and evaluate BASIC LOGS, skip to time 0:52. 2) For how to evaluate weirder logs, including the log of 0, 1, a FRACTION, or a NEGATIVE number, skip to time 6:44. 3) For NATURAL LOGS (LN X), skip to time 11:17. 4) For even weirder logs, including SOLVING for X and using the CHANGE-OF-BASE formula, skip to time 14:56. Nancy formerly of MathBFF explains the steps.

1) BASIC LOGS: you can read log notation as "log, base 3, of 9 equals X". The small (subscript) number is called the base. You can always evaluate a log expression by rearranging it into something called exponential form. Every log expression is connected to an exponential expression. In this example, the log is connected to the exponential form "3 to the X power equals 9". This means, "3 raised to what power gives you 9?" Since 3 raised to the power of 2 equals 9, the answer for X is 2. This is also the answer for the value of the log expression. The log is always equal to the power (or exponent) in the exponential version, and in this case it equals 2. If you want, you can find the log value in your head just by asking yourself what power you need in order to turn the base number into the middle number ("argument" number). Note: if there is no base number in the log expression (no little subscript number), then the base is 10, since 10 is the default base.
2) WEIRDER LOGS (log of 0, 1, a negative number, or a fraction): you can use the same steps to rearrange log expressions that have a fraction, negative number, 0, or 1 in them. You can still rearrange them to be in exponential form just like you can with the basic logs from earlier. The log of 1 will always be 0, since 0 is the only power that can turn a base into 1. The log of 0 will always be undefined, since no power can turn a base into 0. The log of a negative number is undefined in the real number system, since no real power can turn a positive base into a negative number.
3) NATURAL LOGS (ln x): the natural log is just a special type of log where the base is e (the special math constant e, which is approximately 2.718 if you plug it into your calculator). You can use the same steps for rearranging the log expression into exponential form. Just remember that ln x means log, base e.
4) EVEN WEIRDER LOGS (solving for X, change-of-base formula): even if there is an X variable in the log part of an equation, you can still rearrange the equation into exponential form. This will let you solve for X. Sometimes you might need to use the change-of-base formula to evaluate a log expression. If there is no whole number power you know that works, it may actually be a decimal power that you can find by using the change-of-base formula. For example, you can re-write log, base 2, of 7 as (log 7)/(log 2) and use your calculator to find the decimal number if you need it.
